Michael Avery La Salle, M.D.

Dr. Michael A. LaSalle is a board certified Orthopedic Surgeon. He graduated from the University of Southwest Louisiana with a BS in biology and a minor in chemistry. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree at Louisiana State University Medical Center in 1995 and completed an Orthopedic Surgery Residency at LSU in 2001. He was chief resident from 2000-2001.

Dr. LaSalle spent most of his training at Level One trauma center, Charity Hospital, in New Orleans, LA. He also received extensive training in Sports Medicine with Dr. David Drez, MD in Lake Charles, LA. He was an apprentice under Dr. Robert D’Ambrosia, MD for joint replacements, under Dr. Ronnie Matthews, MD for hand surgery in Baton Rouge, under Dr. Mitch Harris, MD and Dr. Norman Chutkan, MD for spine surgery, under Drs. Robert Dehne, MD and Keith Donato, MD foot and ankle surgery. He completed his pediatric orthopedic training at Children’s Hospital in New Orleans. He remains board certified in orthopedic surgery through the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery.

Dr. LaSalle is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, Louisiana Orthopedic Association, Terrebonne Parish Medical Society and the Louisiana State Medical Association. He is currently on staff at Terrebonne General Medical Center, St. Anne’s Hospital in Raceland, Gulf Coast Surgical Center and Physicians Specialty Surgical Hospital.
